1/2 Price Promotion: Nokia 5130

Today, I bought a $100 phone card in Ottawa. I was able to buy the new Nokia 5130 for half price, $70.00. I am already a Speakout Wireless customer and I am planning to put my old sim into my new phone. The new phone comes with 20 minutes of startup airtime. Is there any way for me to be able to use this 20 minutes of startup airtime with my old sim in my new phone?

Unfortunately not, as airtime is tied to a particular SIM card or account, not to a particular phone. You could sell that new SIM card to someone else, though.

Thanks, Peter I thought so. I looked online now at the promotion and the Nokia 5130 was not included in it so I feel lucky I was able to get it at half the price.

You got lucky. The 7-Eleven by me will not sell the 5130 for half price. They stated only the ones pictured in the promo are half priced.

I drove from Montreal with no intention of buying a phone but to buy a $75 top up card. I asked the cashier if the promotion included the Nokia 5130 and he agreed to it. I originally took advantage of that free phone promotion when you bought a $100 top up card.

It was not there in the afternoon.
Now they have updated the page with addition of 5130.

FYI, the 5130 is 50% off: http://speakout7eleven.ca/ click on the why pay full price button below. Have it, and it's pretty solid for $70, cheers!

Yes, it's a deal at $70, but you have to buy a $100 airtime voucher to get that phone at half price. You can't just buy the phone itself for $70. So, it would cost you $170, plus the taxes.

I think this is the best deal for people who wants to get the Nokia 5130 and speakout ($69.99 off). As the free phone coming up will only be $59.99 and you still need to get the $100 refill.

Where did you get the 5130 in Ottawa? The one near me didn't have one.
Thanks

If you go to http://www.7-eleven.com/ and use their store locator it will show you all the stores in your area and the phone numbers. You can call these stores and ask them if they have it in stock. I hope you find the 5130 near you, it's a really nice phone.

Now a question flashes thru my mind:
If u can get Nokia 5130 for $70 with the purchase of $100 airtime, would you be able to actually get the phone for FREE if u buy $200 of airtime instead (2 X $70 off Nokia 5130)?

No, you can not "double up" like that. You get the 50% off a phone once.

Ask that question in store and see the reaction.

7-11 staff are notoriously ignorant about some of the finer points of the SO offer. Sometimes they'll let you do stuff like this in error. Doesn't hurt to try but they shouldn't get beat up when they actually follow orders 😉

Some are and some aren`t. It shouldn`t matter as long as you use only Robbers, SO or PCM SIMs in them. If the phone is locked, however, it won`t work with a US SIM like T-Mobile.
