Yup.....thats true.....
What about reliability and performance?
Anyone familiar with these phones?
Also, the website is down and I need to find a 7-11 in Vancouver. I am on E. Broadway near Main. Is there one close?
Or try this link:

I agree with you. I had a search on this new phone around Calgary NW area (four locations), but couldn't find one. I am gonna check this phone on next week.

I went to 5 7-11 stores in South Calgary this morning, and no one had any 2760 phones. my visit prompted them to order, and it will take a week to arrive
very poor planning, when they all have the advertising in store promoting the new deals.
I went to Midnapore, Queensland, Shawnessy, Somerset, Bridlewood. I gave up after this.
If anyone knows of 7-11 stores in Calgary who has the phones please post!!

I just bought the Nokia 1600 and $100 airtime at the 7-eleven on the corner of Broadway and Oak in Vancouver. There were lots of phones there this morning. More 1600's than anything else.
The phone is actually very nice for a free phone. It has all the features I'm used to on the Nokia 6020 I had to leave in Australia before coming to Canada.
I'm happy.

be careful about this as the airtime purchased bust be activated in 90 days

I wonder if you buy $200 airtime, would they give you $150 credit for your phone? I understand that you can buy, say, 2 $100 airtime and use one now and use the other one in six month. Basically, that is $200 for 18 month. Not too bad.

I didn't go at midnight but did drop in about 9:00am this morning and picked up 2 x 2760's (note: asked and got 4x$50 airtime "cards" - no problems). The clerk commented that the previous promo was very popular and she wasn't happy when they ran out of stock because of all of the inquiries that came afterwards 🙂
I activated one that I'll give to my wife to use right away. After using a bit this afternoon/evening it seems to be an OK phone so far, the built-in speaker seems a little tinnier than other cell phones I've used. I agree that the keys look cheap (per mobile-review.com review).

I dropped by a 7-Eleven yesterday and saw their display indicating the new promo. At stores in the Vancouver area at least, they have a flip chart next to the cell phone stuff showing the offerings and promos and dates they're effective.
Of course I asked the clerk at a 7-Eleven in Burnaby about it and he scanned the register and said there were no new promos listed. Perhaps it only displayed the still in effect current promos cause their aisle display was obviously ready for the Nov 16th promo. He also said they usually get their shipments Sundays which wouldn't jive with the promo date so I'll be checking with the manager in the morning...
I *might* pop by at midnight

The Douglas Street store (Victoria, BC) staff didn't know much about the promo and only had 1 phone in stock (a flip phone, but not the 2760). I went down the street to another 7-11 and they knew all about it. Lots of stock. I got the 2610 and the mandatory $100 in airtime in 2 x $50 denominations. There is $5 already on the phone with a Nov 15 expiry. I added $50 this evening, but the expriy date did not change to the 16th. I'll have to watch this when I add the other $50 in 90 days. Nice small phone, enough features, so far so good.

I just got back from Macleod Trail and 40th Ave, in Calgary.
Confirmed -- got 2 x 2760's and the vouchers. The clerk was very friendly and helpfull.
the phone looks nice, but like the others have said, the buttons are cheap like.
i have also successfully used my rogers sim in it with no problems.
i will update the thread later after i tested the volume of ear portion.
brief test of speakphone - terrible. ... but i will not be using it, so no biggy for me.
