Speakout is giving away $5 worth of free airtime to existing customers!!!

All you have to do is go to the official site https://www.speakout7eleven.ca/
and complete the survey!!

It was much faster than the estimated 20 minutes...
Just thought I'd spread the word. :p
Enjoy!!

Soon they will have a database matching everybody's profile (based on their answers to the survey) to their number 😛 Sneaky...

Don't say you are a convenience store clerk, that category will kick you out of the $5 bucks. Say you are an Other 🙂

If I were 7-Eleven, I would limit the bonus airtime to one per number. Therefore, you might be able to complete the survey multiple times, but it would all be in vain.

they may have had to pull it because there was one question that deals with ethnic origins and that may be a no no under Human Rights legislation

I filled out the survey. My question is, since all top-ups last a year, does the $5 they're going to give us extend our expiry dates another year?

Just kidding, but we can only wish 🙂

That's a good point. There was a few questions like that. One was the ethnic question. Another was if you are male or female. A normal question, but not allowed in this day and age. There was a few other "questionable" questions as well.

How is asking if you're a male or female not an appropriate question in a marketing survey?

You're not filling out a job application, it's a marketing survey!

All SpeakOut is trying to do is to find out who likes their service so they can concentrate their marketing more appropriately.

I know it may seem like common sense to you and I, but trust me, in these days of lots of people being over the top "politically correct", it's not ok for some. Especially those who are trans-gendered etc.

I hate "politically "correctness" as much as the next guy, but there were a few of questions on there, I felt shouldn't of been. Another one was how much my salary was, etc.

Best way to answer is to lie on personal type questions for marketing surveys...

BUT where it asks at the end ... to write what would make SpeakOut better... please put ... a website that we could add airtime, view usage, configure settings, etc...

No prob pete, least I could do for the site that helped me with all my speakout needs. (The Nokia 1600 is the best phone I've ever had!!) 🙂

Looks like they brought the survey back on the speakout homepage.

I still haven't been credited though....is anyone else in the same boat??

I'm beginning to wonder if I typed my phone # in there correctly...

Loved how http://www.speakoutwireless.ca/ was so prominent in the list for "how did you hear about SpeakOut?"

Suggested that was one of their biggest problems - marketing. They seem to be catching on finally...

I'm off to pick up 2 more 1208's for gifts - my nearest 7-Eleven still has 8 in stock this morning.

Peter - SpeakOut should be giving a big Thank You to YOU!
(or a coupla free phones/years airtime at the very least)

My wife and I filled out the survey yesterday afternoon. Neither of us received the $5 credit.

I suspect the questions fell afoul of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. Collection of personal information about ethnicity, income, and age is subject to a variety of restrictions. I don't remember seeing anything in the survey that outlines how the company intends to use the information they collected, nor is it discussed in their privacy link on the main page.

In other words, someone really screwed up.

I think you are correct, now I recall reading that rules about the PIPEDA.
