anyone know if they're bringing back the $100 airtime free phone promo from last summer? i'm not sure if i should get this or keep waiting for the $100, free phone... but since this promo expires end of july, looks like last summer's promo won't be coming back..

Does anyone know, can I buy a $75 and $25 (equals $100), and get the deal ?
As we have seen in the deals over the past year or two, it all depends on the 7-Eleven that you go to and the clerk who is helping you. Some people have managed to split up the voucher requirement without any fuss, some have managed to convince the clerk to do it after some resistance, and some have had the clerk and manager give a firm "no".
However, consider a couple of things:
- the $75 voucher gives you an effective rate of $0.20 per minute instead of $0.25 per minute; the $25 voucher gives you an effective rate of $0.25 per minute
- both vouchers still have to be redeemed within 90 days

Yesterday I bought a Nokia 1680 and $100 card -- when the clerk looked it up, he determined that the correct discount for that phone was $50. So unless he made a mistake, it's actually better than half-price: $89-$50 = $39.
(I had to go to four different 7-11s before I found one that actually had phones in stock...)

I can now confirm that the Nokia 2760 from 7-eleven is LOCKED.
Locked to Rogers network you mean? Anytime we lose freedom is bad. But since Rogers is the only GSM carrier in Canada anyway, having a locked phone would only affect people who want to use their SO phone in US or overseas..? Pls correct me if this is wrong 🙂
