Long distance within an area code?

On landline a local call is free. If you call to another city within the area code it is long distance. Is that true with Speakout?

My example would be...All of Manitoba is one area code. Calling from Wpg to other cities within MB and area code 204 is long distance. Is that also true for speakout?

Cell phones work the same way as landline phones when it comes to long distance.

If you use a landline in Winnipeg and call your friend in Churchill. MB you will be charged long distance charges. Similarly, if you are using cell phone (regardless of the cell phone's number) and you are physically in Winnipeg calling your friend in Churchill you will be charged long distance as well.

But, if you take your cell phone (from whatever region) and travel to Churchill and once your arrive in Churchill you then call your Churchill friend, then it's a local call.

If you start here:
http://www.localcallingguide.c.....prefix.php and enter your area code at the NPA box, then "submit", you'll see all the local codes (NXX) for that area code.
If you then click the name of the "Rate Centre" for the local code you're interested in, you'll see a table of all the local codes in that Rate Centre, and below you'll see which nearby exchanges also have local calling from that Rate Centre.
In some places the "local calling area" for cell phones is different to the local calling area for land lines. This applies particularly in outlying parts of large cities. And it's possible that the local calling area for one cell company is different to the local calling area for another cell company.
