As speculated in a few threads, the next promotion will be a free Nokia 1600 (with SIM card) with the purchase of $100 airtime.
Note that this has not yet been confirmed by anybody at 7-Eleven.
The May 2008 deal is 50 free airtime minutes (basically, $10) when purchasing $50 of air time.

So is it at the beginning of May, or at the end of May? I want to buy a new SO phone, but can wait a couple of weeks, but not 6 weeks!

Almost in the first week of May,08.
7-11 in GTA are saying it happens every year.
They said that there are possibiliies of some new cellphone set to be introduced in.
Need confirmation from head office.

Or it will be all available during the week?

7-11 shopkeepers are saying that there is promotion sale every year in May with free phone after 100$ airtime purchase..
Shopkeeper was saying that 7-11 is out of their Nokia-1600 stock,so they will introduce some new features phone set.

Can anyone confirm that 7-11 is out of Nokia 1600s?
If so, they will probably replace it with the less expensive Nokia 1208 that Ztar Mobile has given PetroCanada Mobility. Virtually identical to the 1600, but PetroCan sells it for $50.

Here is the email I got from 7-eleven
Thank you for contacting 7-Eleven in Canada. I assume you are referring to our Speakout cellular phones and services. In May we will not be providing a discount on existing phone but offering our Speakout customers 50 free minutes with the purchase of $50.00 of airtime. However we do have some great regular pricing on our phones:
Speakout Nokia 1600 @ $74.00
Speakout Nokia 2610 @ $100.00
Speakout Nokia 2760 flip @ $125.00
Speakout Nokia 6061 flip @ $125.00
and coming in late April our brand new Speakout Nokia 5200 slider music and camera phone @ $149.00 which will come with 1G memory, free stereo ear buds and $25 free airtime (see attached)
all our Speakout phones come pre-charged and activated with $10.00 airtime included. Our rates are still 20 cents per minute anytime with 365 day expiry and also 5 cents for text messaging.

Oh, dear. What was the source of the original "rumour" that it would be happening in May? Can anyone return to that source for an update?

It is not humor.I got true reply from 7-11 administration.Here is a copy.

It really disappointed every one.no more free phones.
Nokia-5200 have a lot of bad features.I have one and i discarded it last year.
