Stopped by my local 7eleven and noticed they had a couple of new phones that are not shown on their site yet. There was a crowd at the counter so didn't bother having a look but did grab the spec sheets:

The store info sheet has the 'SpeakOutWireless' logo and website on it so I think this is legit.
Ok I went back to the store today and spoke to a clerk who seemed knowledgeable. The FiGO phones were supposed to be introduced at the beginning of the current promo (Nov 1) but were delayed for a couple of weeks. The phone is featured on the big in-store poster for the current promo. Forgot to ask if they were replacing the BLU Advantage.
The FiGO pictured in the store looks like the Virtue model although the specs don't match exactly.

And the FiGO phones are up on the website

The specs for RAM on the website do not match those in the store handout (512MB vs 1GB, respectively) but do match those on the FiGO website

SpeakOut has changed the model to FiGO Virtue III and the specs for memory (1GB) now match the store handout.

There is obviously a lot of unnecessary confusion regarding this phone! According to Google, there is no such thing as a "Virtue III." Either this is a model specifically unique to Speakout, or it exists elsewhere despite there being absolutely no information about it on-line. The closest thing I can find via Google is the "Virtue II 4.0." Moreover, 7-Eleven billboards are advertising "Virtue II," but the actual phone packages in store say: "Virtue III." There is a lot of confusion, and I find it rather disconcerting!
Does anyone know whether this phone is locked, or unlocked?

Appears to have also changed from Lollipop to Android 6.0 Marshmallow which does not match the store handout.

If the specs on the speakout7eleven website are accurate, this phone becomes very appealing! Getting a nearly up-to-date version of Android, plus 1GB of Ram is an attractive proposition. Also, it only costs about $29.00 with G.S.T., when you consider the $30 discount and the free $25 top-up bonus. The only real question is the battery life. The Blu Advance had pretty decent battery life, IMO.
The Blu Advance is still available for sale in store, but for $79.99 there is no way I would make that purchase. I got the Blu Advance last year for free, but the phone crapped out on me after a few months, and it was locked down so tight I couldn't fix it no matter what I tried. Despite having the old battery and a case for it, I still wouldn't buy it for $79.99. It is running Android Kit Kat, which was released way back in October of 2013.

At least until a week ago the BLU Advance was on sale on the website with the same discount as the FiGO ($49.99 with purchase of $100 topup). Not sure if the store would match that.
If you're still considering the BLU Advance there's an updated version with Marshmallow available from Amazon for $59.99 and free shipping (OS at the moment).

The original model is also available for a few bucks less as described in this thread:

Asked about about a manual and more information online on the FiGO forum and got this in reply
"The model you purchased is a Canada special, it will soon be available in the US as well and have all its information online.
I attached a pdf copy of our user manual, if you have any other questions please let me know and i will be more than happy to assist you.
Thank you."

Thanks for the link to the manual! The manual that came with the phone was in french for some reason...
I decided to buy the phone, and I'm very happy with it. The battery life is very good for my needs.

I'm disappointed to say that the battery on this phone seems to be draining extremely fast. I charged the phone last night, I used the phone this morning, and then I had a nap for about 5 hours. Upon waking, I see that my phone is completely dead. Thankfully it's just a problem with the battery, and not the phone. I don't need another brick like my Blu Advance 4.0L became!
I would say that I've noticed some concerns with battery life over the past 2-3 weeks. There are days when the battery seems to lose it's charge very quickly. I did not have the flashlight powered on, and I regularly close all open apps. Therefore, I have no idea what is causing the battery to die so quickly.
I wanted to also mention one more interesting thing about this phone: According to my security app (Malwarebytes Anti-Malware), my phone is apparently "rooted." I received a message from the app one day, telling me that my phone is rooted. I certainly didn't choose to root the phone! Perhaps this message was incorrect. Honestly, I haven't had time to look further into this possible issue. I just thought I'd mention it. Perhaps the security software was incorrect.
