Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help me.
After hearing all the wonders about the 7-11 S.O. here, i decided today to head to the local 7-11 store here at Toronto to get me a Nokia 1208, which the official website claims it should cost $74 (before taxes) and should include 20min of air time. But the sales clerk (who seemed not very knowledgeable about the SO) told me I have to get a $100 voucher first to get the phone for free; that I can't get the phone alone. Since $74 and $100 wasn't that much of a difference, I said ok. But when he scan the phone, told me I had to pay $196 for the whole package, that the $100 promotion was over. Of course I walk out of the store empty handed, and the whole experience left me sour. Does anyone know what's going on? Is it possible to get that Nokia 1208 for $74 before taxes as promoted in their website? I'm definitely sending an email to the company to ask for an explanation, but any insight you can give me would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Will

The clerk was definitely confused with the deal that ended Sept 30th.
The deal was you got a free Nokia 1208 or 1600 if you buy $100 worth of airtime. Now the old price is back, i.e. $74 for a Nokia 1208 or 1600 with $5 (20 minutes) worth of startup airtime in the sim card.
There is no need for you to buy $100 worth of airtime to buy the $74 phone.
Even when the deal was on, logically there should be no restriction in buying the $74 phone (without the additional $100 airtime).
