There's nothing special with this plan....it's the same as the Virgin plan at Future Shop.....but you have a better selection of phones. The activation plan is the same as are the phone cards.....I got a Samsung camera phone for $45 and $5 of time and bought a $100 card that lasts 365 days and the costs are exactly the same. Best buy does the same thing as does the Source.

I got the same thing at future shop and I got an LG clam phone for $50....awesome MPS player and checks text messages for free plus tons of downloads and a 300 page phone book...........there's a complete ring tone library online as well as lots of graphics and games.

They're not the same.

While the rates for SpeakOut are $.20/min anytime, the rates for Virgin are either $.30/min anytime OR $.10/min anytime plus $.40/day. For some the SpeakOut plan is cheaper, for others the second Virgin plan works best.

(I'm not sure if you are still charged the $.40/day everyday regardless of whether or not you get a call. Anyone know?)

Also, Virgin uses CDMA and Speakout uses GSM. Some people prefer one over the other. I like GSM because I can switch phones whenever I like (but that's just me).

Virgin does have a MUCH nicer selection of phones, but some of them are fairly pricey for pay-as-you-go clients.

And I'm sure the guys at the mall kiosk know a lot more about their service than the guys working at 7-11.

Virgin also has a nice auto-top-up feature that some people may prefer, so they are never short of minutes.

No monthly 911 fee on Virgin, as far as i can tell.

Both plans are good. I'm sticking with SpeakOut primarily because it's GSM (but that's just my preference).
