I did go with SO …purchasing a SIM card for a borrowed flip phone for my casual ! btw, SIM registration worked fine
Based on info from previous 'SO' users, at the same time I purchased the basic $25 talk voucher. Which btw, I haven't activated yet since I'm still setting up the phone when time permits.
The next day I was reviewing the various options for Talk/long distance and saw their $20 value plan which is active for 30 days (a no contract monthly ?!) .
Looking at it, I feel I bloopered, thinking since I only need the 'service' for less than 30 days when I'm on the 'road' and at primary dest. ! Don't even need a plan/voucher that lasts 365 days…. just purchase and activate one of these a couple days previous to departure (to ensure that SO activation sys worked properly) and subsequently deactivate the value plan on day 28 or 29 likely back at primary location. Deactivate just so 'SO' admin and their seemingly troubled accounting sys does not erroneously charge me alleged overage charges even though their, value plan 'fine print' says plan deactivates at 30 days…. and yeah I'm one of those people that would keep an eye on minutes left (easy with a phone that seemingly has a minute usage counter) !
Hmmmm if the value plan is as read … dang it I do believe the standard 365 voucher is non-refundable …ahhhh, maybe the original users of the borrowed have a need for it !?
Am I reading the 'SO' page(s) correctly ?
thanks for your time !

Thanks for the quick input !
Shucks, if I had reviewed "plans" sooner and posted this subsequently earlier, I w/could ah registered the SIM to my primary location area code 'just-in-case' required here, and use the value plan at other destination(s).
Ahh well, should work the other way for the few days remaining on the "plan" when active
I could always buy another SIM ($10) if it does not 'work' out this way

Decided to change area code (and number of course) to primary location.
Called 611 and SO-CSR successfully changed it within a couple minutes of my change request being made.
Actually dial tone went dead as I was listening to her say something .... found info text msg. on phone (that I read to expect, on a thread somewheres) within 5 min.
At first I thought I had cut her off, as I did her colleague 5-10 min. previously when attempting to switch off spkr. .
yeech, getting used to a new piece of gear can result in a few embarassing moments . . . . . lol
