I just bought a 'Pay As You Go' sim card from Rogers for $40 but I just learned that unless I top it up every month the card will expire a month after I activate it!? Maybe I should return it(not opened yet) and just pay a little more for the cheapest Speakout phone that at least lasts a year if I'm not using it all the time. Can anyone confirm my problem and give advice on this?

Thanks.

Right now SpeakOut has a promotion where you get a cheap phone for free, if you buy a $100 top-up. Any top-up with SpeakOut lasts a year. I highly recommend going with SpeakOut as they are on Rogers network, so where there is Rogers coverage, there is SpeakOut coverage.

That is not exactly true.
Rogers has a $100 top up that lasts 365 days.

Speakout is definitly the way to go because you can get $140 plus a free phone for $100 and that includes the sim card.

With rogers you could pay $140 and get $100 of minutes.
