I bought a speakout sim card with $5 airttime on it. After not using my SO sim-card for one year, I decided to top-up for $25 to keep it active just in case I need it. Before topping up it said I have $0.05 on it, after topping up with 25-bux I only have $18.
Seems like Speakout charged me back for the time I had my number and wanted to deduct monthly 911 fees and couldn't. Nevertheless it is strange and I hate when something like that happens with PREPAID. This is not postpaid, I should not have to pay for what should have been decuted.... the should have just temporaily deactivated my account or something.
Has anyone else experienced this?
The last time this happened to me was when I used the "free" internet on Rogers Paygo some years back although I had zero balance and after topping up they would "catch up" with me and charge me for it....

I thought they canceled the account after some period if you let it expire, don't they? Or was it that the expiry date wasn't reached, but the credit was down to zero? Either way, I don't think you have much right to complain, because if you want to keep it active you have to pay the not-unreasonable $0.99 a month.
IMO they have every right to outright cancel a number if the airtime is expired after several months (not sure if that's the case with you). I'd be happy they didn't do that.

Goldhead,
You are months behind your past due and I don't see it's been unfair to anyone. As long as you want your SpeakOut line to remain "active", it's the price to pay. If you insist, get a new SpeakOut line whenever you optimally utilize the "service" again.
So he wanted it both ways ? 1) He wanted to use old Sim Without Buying A New Sim, even if he didn't pay the required $1/month for several months (because there was no more fund). 2) He didn't want to pay back what he owes them ($1/month for several months).
