So, Speak Out has been promising Wireless Web rolled out as early as 2006 - ( I have a PDF file from 2006 where they say its coming in late 2006!) but I can't see any mention of it on their latest offering documents:

Does anyone know if wireless internet access is available?

I just checked the 711 site and it appears to be a new info PDF. In the fine print on the bottom right it now says that Internet is available. Can someone check this out and let me know if it's legit. It says "wireless web" is charged per kilobyte but not what the rate is. If you find out can you also let me know.

PDF you are referring to is for US.

NOTE: They are charging a per KB data charge on top of the 15 cents US per minute. Data charges in Canada tend to be extremely high which is the main reason the iPhone hasn't been introduced here.

I doubt if you will see the WEB being offered on 7-11 in Canada any time soon. Even if they do offer it, and if you were planing to use it in any meaningful way, I suspect the cost would be such that you would be much better purchasing a DATA plan from one of the Big players.

Bummer, it's linked to from the .ca site. I just moved here from Australia where they have 3G mobile plans (postpaid) you can get 5Gb data for about AU$60. Alot of sites are pretty in-accessible when surfing from your phone but you just hook it up to your laptop.

If you just want to use it for your laptop, try the WiMax network. It is offered by Bell Canada (Sympatico High Speed Unplugged) and Rogers (Portable Internet).
