I'm looking to upgrade my iPhone 3gs and switch to Wind's 1Gb for $10/month.
What's a good unlocked phone for $200-$300 that works with Wind?
Screen size between 4-5"
Expandible to at least 32Gb memory
Screen resolution better than 480x320.(my iPhone 3gs)
Something I can get a good case for? I love my OtterBox Defender case on my 3gs because of my work.

Here is a start.

I would be careful not to buy a phone on this list from other carriers because they may or may not be a version that works with Wind.
The exception, and the phone I would recommend, is either the Nexus 4 or 5 by Google. You can get Nexus phones from other carriers and they will work with Wind out of the box, because google will not lock their Nexus phones, and all of them are Wind compatible.

I was going to suggest the Moto G. I don't know if I can recommend it yet though because I haven't seen it yet. However after reading this, it sounds like Telus/Koodo locked their Moto Gs to their network, even though I thought the Moto G was supposed to the cheap version of the "Nexus" phone philosophy. Grrr..... Anyways, maybe you can find one from the States if the phone interests you. Good luck.

Nexus 4 looks nice. Screen reosolution of 1280x768 and 4.7 inch.
2100 mAh Lithium Polymer batery. 230 Hour standby. 5 hours talk time.
8 MP Back; 1.3 MP front cameras. Weight 139g. No expandable memory! ~$250
Samsung Galaxy S III.
Screen reosolution of 1280x720 and 4.8 inch.
2100 mAH Lithium-ion battery. 900 hour standby. 21 hour talk time.
8 MP,1.9MP cameras. weight 133g. MicroSD card slot (expandable to 32GB). ~$300
sapien's other suggestion and the one that bridonca doesnt like.ONTOP Nugget D5 at Stapels
Screen reosolution of 960x540 and 5.3 inch.
1900 mAH Li-polymer battery.120 hour standby. 6 hours talk time.
5 MP,2 MP camers. weight unknown. MicroSD card slot (expandable to 32GB) $180
No expandable memory on the Nexus 4, and low standby time on the Nugget D5 rule out both those .
Any other phone suggestions for Wind?
edit: the Nugget D5 standby time is 5 days not 15 hours

you know the $10 data plan is for tablets only so you can't make phone calls with this sim however if you buy a smartphone that is dual sim you can use one sim for data and the other for phone calls, a lot of china smartphones are dual sim so are a few samsung's models as well but unfortunately not for the iphone only the android system. one thing that catches my eye a lot because of the price is the star w450 dual sim phone 1.3ghz quad core processor antutu benchmark is 17000 (high end smartphone isn't more than 32,000) and costs $100 shipped. if you are into tablets only my favourite is the nexus 7 tablet by google they always offer features for the dollar but google also disables the phone calling on these tablets unfortunately this makes me lean towards the phablet phones ie the xperia z ultra but again its not dual sim there are some china makers of 7" tablets that offer dual sim thats why sometimes dual sims do come in handy or atleast buying a phablet that lets you make phone calls.

I like the idea of 2 sim cads in one phone. One for Wind data, one for voice on Speakout.
I read on this forum of someone using Fongo with Wind and it worked. That would eliminate the need for 2 sims.
7 inch tablet is too big for my needs.
i made a mistake the star w450 doesn't do the 1700 frequency (needs 2100 and 1700) other service providers it does work. its almost impossible to find a dual sim that includes the 1700 band wind phone.
personally i wish vodafone came to canada they are a real winner in europe you can get the sim card for free topping up 5euro and the cool thing about topping up with vodafone everytime say 10euro you top up they give you 500megabytes of transfer for free and the extra 10 euros topup to do whatever you want for minutes/texting etc and topup only once a year to keep the phone# active. still the wind deal is good though $10 for 1 gigabyte. you could also do what others do get a cheap smartphone that has the 1700 band (t-mobile is popular) make sure it has good battery lifetime and tether it or hotspot it with your other tablet or smartphone or like you said run it pure internet get an internet phone line but get a good smartphone that lasts long on the internet that has a big battery like the high end smartphones have.

Just make sure the version of the Samsung Galaxy S III you get actually supports the Wind frequencies. There are versions that do not.
I do not know why you need so much storage. I have phones that only have 2 GB storage, and that seems enough. Mind you, I do not use much video, but who wants to look at video on a 5 inch screen?

Wind needs 1700 and 2100 frequency?
I have 16Gb of music that I like to carry around in my pocket. It's a party in my pocket!
