Hi all
I only use my phone to check my email and I dont get a lot of email. My data log shows 8MB to 10MB per month. I am thinking it is cheaper if I get the overage rate 10cent/MB instead of signing up for a $10/100MB for 30days.
Is it possible to use data at the overage rate instead of signing up for a dataplan with SO or any other carrier?
thanks

There you go $10US per MB billed in 100K minimum increments for Canada.
In the USA .99 per MB….hmmmm

Here is another solution. I use Piranha Mobile as a solution when I travel abroad. It's a UK company that will ship you a sim card for around $18 CDN. (There is around $8 credit on the sim.). If you use the sim card in Canada, they charge you $0.38 per mb for data. That's in US$, so let's say $0.40/mb in Canadian funds. So with your usage, it would come to around $4 a month.
Voice calls are close to Speakout rates. Receiving a call is only 12 cents/min. No monthly fees or 911 charge. Credit lasts for 420 days. The down side is that you get a U.S. number, not a Canadian one.
Note: for a fee, they will provide you with a Canadian number.
