The soon to be extinct UMB plan was excellent for my needs. I need no more than 15 minutes of talk time and about 1 GB data every month. I use IPhone 3GS.
It used to cost me about $15 with SO.
I am wondering who should I take my business to now that SO is going to be uttely hopeless for me.
Any suggestions guys?
And Any hint of upcoming opportunuties during cyber monday/black friday etc.?

Bell and Telus have flex Tablet data plans for $20 for 1 gig. You can of have to be sneaky to them though if you are using a cell phone on them. I said I was going to use it on multiple devices, and I already have a voice plan, and they eventually relented.

Virgin prepaid sells a 512 meg data plan for $20, which is less hassle.

You will not get a black Friday deal on data. Maybe on a phone, but the airtime is never a good deal during the holidays. You get those deals when people do not have money after xmas, or the summer when no one is buying.

My UMB is up in 2 weeks. I think I'm sticking with SO. Can't find a cheaper plan that gives me 10-15 minutes, ~60 texts and 500 MB. Factoring in the 125 for 100, taxes, and 911 fee, all in it comes to 32.89 a month.

I have considered the Bell tablet plan, but my Galaxy SII doesn't have LTE, and I have heard mixed results running VoIP on 3G.

Think I will be going for this once I burn off my remaining dollars. Up to 5Gb is $35. Tethering on another plan is 3Gb for $30.

Netyang. Thanks for the info. Wind for $10 for 1Gb is what I'm looking for.
I only use my iPhone 3gs for web surfing, email and around 50 texts/month.
Will be looking at Wind when my balance is at $0
Can i make any calls with Wind? Maybe at $1/minute?

Wind does not support a lot of phones. So you better make sure your phone actually works with AWS frequencies. most iphones will not work with wind. Only a few versions of the iphone 5 support AWS.

Ok, thanks bridonca. I didn't know that.
My search continues for 500Mb for $10/month for my iPhone 3gs.

I'm in Wind yesterday for the 1Gb data $10/month. the SIM card is free. and it is repaid. so if you don't want continue it, just throw it.

I always use Fongo as my calling app. so for last couple of years, I only use $10 on Speakout for unlimited calling, message and internet. now Wind is good for 1G. only bad is Wind's coverage. So I decided use Wind and Speakout together. This will still cost me about $12 for everything.

You would have to use Fongo or get a phone plan. Wind has a $30/month plan that offers unlimited province-wide calling, unlimited Canada-wide text, and unlimited data.
