Posting your location is in the rules when you are selling something.

That way the potential buyer (without calling or emailing) can see if they are dealing with a local buyer, or a buyer on the other side of the country.

Many potential phone or SIM buyers are only interested in dealing with a local seller, so that they can see the actual item being sold. Therefore, including the location in the ad saves e-mails and PMs for both buyers and sellers. And as you can see from the ads in this forum, most ad posters have no trouble including that information in their ad.

If the seller is located in another province and posts his location, and the buyer is only interested in a local purchase then he does not to have to email for the address and waste his time. So posting the location does indeed matter (and hence the rules).
