The 2760 came with curious earbuds. One ear wire is much longer than another. There is also a rectangular plastic piece where the 2 ear wires join.
1. Any reason for the differnt lengths?
2. Is the rectangular piece a microphone? What is its use?
3. Is the only use for these earbuds to listen to the radio. Can it be used for a phone call to listen to a caller maybe in a noisy area?

I realize that if i buy a bluetooth enabled earpiece i can use that.
thanks

I don't know what the answers to your other questions are since I don't have the earphone, but as far as I know, the earphone with a longer wire for one (normally right channel) bud is designed so that the longer wire goes around the back of your neck instead of the front. The 2 wires then go along your left back side and under your left arms to the left pocket where your cell phone or mp3 player is stored. This is so that the wire does not interfere with your arms.

1. The different lengths is because the cell phone is usually (at least it is for me) on the side of the shorter wire. The longer wire is so that it gives you more room to move around. I've had headsets with both wires the same length, and I think it's smart Nokia made them different lengths.

2. Yes, the rectangular piece is indeed the microphone. On the top you will see a tiny hole. That is the microphone itself.

3. You can use them to listen to the radio, or for calls. I just use them for calls, since it's illegal now (in Ontario) to talk on a cell phone while driving without a headset.
