Thought I'd start a new thread.
Someone has a new SO SIM with $ 40,00 airtime for sale. I am waiting to have a Novatel 5792 MiFi wireless router delivered.
It works on cellular and what I am wondering if the $ 40,00 airtime can be used on it or do I have to get a data plan?
What I am thinking is that the 5792 is just a go betweeen and wonder if that would work. These MiFi wirelss routers are advertised that they can be used with up to 5 wirelss devices. So I'm thinking that could be a cellphone, computer, iPad etc.
Just curious, especially since the cellular wireless routers are a fairly new phenomenom.

I think you should reconsider this plan. Speakout data is, in fact, very expensive. It is only appropriate for very light users. 100 mb a month is puny and you can burn through it in the blink of an eye. To think that you want to link up to 5 devices to the mifi is crazy. What you need is something like a tablet plan from one of the big guys, as you will need much more data that Speakout can provide.

Actually I made 500MB last for 30 days in Mexico by not downloading everything coming my way.
I really only want to be able to access certain functions when I can not connect to WiFi this fall on a trip from Toronto to British Columbia. I still have my SO cell phone within Canada for calling.
From BC I'm driving to Mexico and for the USA I have already bought a "ROAM Mobility" SIM card. Three days 300 MB for US$ 7.95 or data/text $ 1.95 per day. Then in Mexico I buy a new TELCEL SIM card on a monthly data plan.
