First off I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to the excellent support of the community and devoted users.

Two days ago I was trying my 3g data connection, and while my opera mobile browser and default browser worked however as usual I could not use any other apps with my 3g connection. Yesterday I updated my phone to android 4.0 and all of a sudden I could use the android marketplace, (Play store) hotmail, wallpaper download apps etc. The video still doesn't stream, like on Youtube but I am wondering if speakout just enabled the 3g again, or this update has adjusted some of the proxy settings utilizing the connection. I live in the Toronto- London Ontario area, just to specify my location.

I would like to get some other opinions, just to see if something changed, I am really excited to see the feedback. Thanks Guys.

2G/3G is how your phone connect to the tower, i never had one day without 3G in my area.

full data unfortunately is still not available on UMB for 99% of those using it, but that doesn't mean you do not get 3G speed. I read on xda that newer android has a better framework in handling proxy so it is possible that more app would work on UMB without rooting.

if you can get gtalk working, it means(usually) you get unrestricted data, but i doubt it works.

Well, I have been getting HSPA+ and in my area even with android 2.3, I just tried gtalk and it didn't work as expected, and i read an article similar to the one you read on xda and it said the same thing, that the new android 4.0 framework, is similar to the rooting and inserting values method described in the other forum posts.

This is a great find for the community, and as the newer android 4.0 phones become cheaper, members of Speakout should factor in this when buying especially when planning on using the UMB.
But also should consider "chimpanzee"s point of your geographical area and the type of connection you will get when using UMB.
