I was wanting to know if/where there is a list of BB phones that will work with speakout...and with a playbook? I read that the easiest way to move photos from a camera to a playbook is via a blackberry phone (micro sd card etc). Seeing as how I have speakout already, getting an old BB phone to use instead of the nokia seems like a good idea, if I can find one cheap enough.

Thanks for any info anyone can offer.

I do not think having a phone involved is going to make your goal easier.

The easiest way to transfer files from the playbook to a computer is to use a WIFI share. You would have to set it up using these instructions, but after the set up, it is pretty easy to use. http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.....HelperImpl

The playbook and the computer would have to be connected to the same router for this to work.

Another option is to get a free box.com account, go to appworld, and download the box.com Playbook client, and upload the pictures to your box.com account. You can then access the pictures from any web browser after that.

You can also download a FTP server from appworld, which I prefer when it comes to transfering files, but I do not recommend it for you because of the set up required. Just putting it out as an option if you have a geek friend that can help.

Hi

Thanks for the reply bridonca. That solution seems like it would work except I am trying to find a way to get photos from a digital camera with an SD card (not the build in playbook or phone camera) into the playbook, without a computer. (ie if I am traveling and don`t want to carry my laptop, or don't want to wait until I get home).

I read that BB phones have some sort of 'bridge program' that connects them to the BB playbook, so thought if there was a BB phone that wasn't a huge price and that would work with my speakout SIM then perhaps I would try that.

I got a 32GB playbook at walmart for $118, so didn't want to have to buy a $300 phone just for that, so am trying to figure out what older/cheaper BB phones will work with both BB playbook and speakout.

I tried to google what BB phone models have SIM cards and work with both, but couldn`t really find an answer.

I also read that there is some hack way to get the playbook to read SD cards, so if I find a SUPER geek then maybe they can do that for me instead! LOL.

Thanks.

You are still going to need a computer to access those camera files. Simplest way it just to upload them to box.com when on the computer, and then access them with your phone , playbook whatever, when you log into box.com with your device. I still do not know how uploading the pics to a phone and then transferring to your playbook is going to make your task easier.
