So by browsing this site and others it seems that the general concensis is that the 1208 is a better phone than the 2760. This is comparing incoming voice quality, outgoing voice quality, voice volume and ringer volume.
But i can't seem to find much on the 1680. Anyone know where it falls? My old phone had such a pathetic ringer that i essentially couldn't hear it unless we were in a quiet room. I don't want to have that issue again.
The reason i don't just go for the 1208 is i really like the FM radio feature of the 1680 so i'm hoping it is just as good as the 1208 with the addition of the radio.
Here's reviews of the 1208 and 2760 i found

Have you looked at any of those reviews? I did before posting. they're mostly the 3 line reviews. pros/cons. people either say they love it or they hate it. And of the 'real' reviews all they talk about is the messaging features, ringtones, sleek look. In fact the first few don't even mention call quality. and none mention the volume of the ringer.
I was hoping for a personal opinion here

I am trying to make the same decision, based on pretty much the same criteria. The main failing of the 2760 as far as I can gather is the flimsy build, especially of the keyboard. Does anyone have any personal experience of this, good or bad?
The 1680 seems to be too new to have much in the way of reviews yet.
What I would really like is a 1208 (solid build, good basic phone) plus FM radio and maybe a camera as nice to have.

I bought the 2760 for my Dad and, in my impression, the keypad is ok. Large keys, works pretty good. I don't have any complaints, but I haven't used it for any real length of time.
My GUESS is that the 1680 is about as solid as the 1600 and the 1208, as it seems to be marketed to the same market and at around the same price. My GUESS is that the 1680 is basically a 1600 with a larger screen and an upgraded OS (the same OS that's on the 2760 and 5200).
If I was buying a Speakout phone today, I'd probably spend the extra $15 and get a 1680 (if I could find it) over the 1208.
