Yeah it has reverted back to requiring a proxy in Calgary as well.
Others have suggested installing a third party program to get around it. I've tried ProxyDroid on Android and while it's running, I can get emails, surf the internet, listen to online radio and watch YouTube videos. It's a little bit of a hassle to start it up but the alternative is to pay $25/month for 500MB of data through another carrier...
