Hi,

I've been reading through the forum and am getting mixed signals as to what I can and cannot do with the new data plan SO offers and general features I would be able to leverage on my BB.

1. Can someone kindly confirm whether it is possible to use the GMAIL client on a BB with the SO data plan. If it does work, what are the configuration details (step by step)?

2. Is the performance any good?

3. What about the browser? Will it function on the BB? How do you configure it?

4. Has anyone successfully installed a third party browser Opera Mini 5 and/or Opera Mini 4?

I would appreciate everyones feedback.

Di

2. It is usable

3. I've installed Opera Mini and it seems to work fine

I have been trying to get data to work on curve.
1) Have WIFI browsing ability,
2) set up data plan and phone shows connected to edge.
3) I set TCP/IP setting to: APN: goam.com, Username: wapuser1 and Pswd: wap.
4) I set the connections to "network only',

but I still get a message "this is a WAP service, please ensure your device has an active WIfi connection and try again". if I try to use the bb browser, google browser or weather widget. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just solved my problem above. Maybe my experience will help others. I downloaded Opera, and in settings>advanced>protocol, I checked "http" rather than "socket" which was the default. Now Opera works. Google mobile app still doesn't work tho.

I am trying to figure out how to set up my 8900 for SO data. Any advise?
I've followed the steps above but it's still not working.
