Hello,
I have an iPhone 4s that was bought unlocked from Apple and has SpeakOut. Recently my plan ran out and I renewed it with a plan that includes data. Problem is that I can't connect to the Internet unless there is wifi.
The corner indicates Rogers as well as 3G but any attempts to access websites on Safari or go to the Mail app is met with a message along the lines of "not subscribed to data plan". Also, sometimes my SMS texts won't go through and without wifi imessaging won't work.
I downloaded iPhone Config Utility and created a profile with the APN, MMS Proxy and Port data settings as suggested on SpeakOut's website. Still to no avail.
I called SpeakOut and all they could suggest is making sure the data settings are correct. They also instructed that I turn off the phone for 20 minutes as they resent a signal. But again, nothing improved.
I've tried resetting network settings; shutting on and off; and assigning the "Internet.com" data settings as suggested by somebody on the forum. Ultimately though, still no Internet.
Can somebody help? Could it be that I should somehow access the MMSC, APN Type, APN Protocol & APN Protocol and set them to the settings SpeakOut suggests?
I'm a tech newbie, so to speak, so please explain in layman's terms. Thanks in advance.

Try this iPhone Configuration Utility Configuration:
Under General / Display Name: SpeakOut Data Internet.com (or anything you wish)
Identifier: com.speakout.wireless
Then scroll all the way down to APN and click Configure in the window that opens.
Then enter:
Access Point Name: internet.com
Access Point Username: leave blank
Access Point Password: wap
Proxy server and Port: leave blank
Install the profile and then you must shut the phone off and restart the phone.
