Hi folks,
I just picked up the Nokia 1208 through the advertised SO deal and had a quick question:
As my wife rarely uses this phone, is there a way to display or quickly access the phone number as assigned to the activated handset?
I have always had to do this with numerous phones I've had over the years, but I don't see any obvious way to do this with the 1208.
Calling "customer service" was a useless exercise...as expected 🙂
Thanks all!

i dont know about the 1208, but the way i did it was to create a recurring calender entry called "Cel# 123-456-7890" and that now shows all the time on the default display
also agree customer service has gone downhill lately, they used to be friendly and helpful but the last few times i called they've been rude and snarky

I don't think the recurring calendar entry works on the 1208; if you find it doesn't, you could enter the cell# as a new contact ie: "A. My Cell#" then input the number. Under Contacts>Settings>Contacts View, choose the option "Name and No." As soon as your wife accesses the contact list using the down scroll button, it should be the 1st one listed because of the letter "A".
If that doesn't work for quick & easy access... you could always stick a label on the phone.
Cheers.
