Hi there,

I have been browsing this site to get answers, but no luck. Anyway, I apologize if this is already addressed previously. I just have one question.

Can I use GTalk or/and other messenger clients on SO Data? I am using BB with GTalk on it.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about GTalk but I use Yahoo Messenger on my iPhone all the time. Works great.

Hi Andreww, 🙂

Thanks for the reply.

If Yahoo works, then GTalk should work. All I do is just setting-up the APN and stuff ... is that correct?

Thanks again.

The client must be able to communicate through http/https at port 80. You are better off using https because the Rogers proxy is not as able to muck things up. I use meebo to do my gtalk/yahoo/msn/irc messaging, through https port 80

i can browse through the default web browser but no opera mini or google apps are working

I have no idea about Android's APN settings sadly. If I were to guess, you would modify the existing settings, and add https to it. it would be the exact same proxy address and port as http. I will be of no use to you on how to do that though.

It looks like a bug in Android 2.1 where the applications ignore the APN proxy settings.
