Hi all!

Spent a few hours figuring this all out, so thought I'd share.

As you know/have figured out SO doesn't allow non-port 80 connections.

Firstly, set up your iPhone to use SO's WAP. https://www.speakoutwireless.ca/speak/phone-features/iphone-3gs-with-new-unlimited-data-plan/#p12525

Then set up your regular email account.

For SMTP (outbound email) use Rogers SMTP -
smtp.rogerswirelessdata.com
No user Name & password
SSL OFF
Port 25

Use Gmail exchange for incoming. (http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx.....h-support/) Press reply and specify other email address in "from" field.

Done!

Cheers!

Not really sure what you are getting at here. Gmail set up as an exchange account works perfectly for incoming and outgoing mail, so I don't understand what the Rogers SMTP info is about? Will that allow me to send mail from my Rogers account, but still not allow me to receive from Rogers?

No, I'm getting at sending email with your regular email address, eg. Shaw, MobileMe, etc. etc.

I see that, but if you can't receive what good is it? Why not just use the gmail for both?
