2610 will cost you $25 more then 1600. After using Nokia 2610 for few months, is good phone, good reception -- but 2610 has one fault -- you will not be able to see the screen too well in sunny day (even with backlight on). I do not know about 1600, if has same issue with the display. Nevertheless, I would not trade 2610, it just looks nice.

The 1600 has the same problem but it too is a good phone especially for "free."
FWIW I recently saw 1600s for sale in phone shops in Europe (unlocked, no airtime) for at least EUR50 which is CA$75.
