I have an LG Rumour 2 from Virgin and found them too expensive (and have cancelled since) as I have a MagicJack now and only need my cell to transfer pics to my computer. It seems like I can't transfer pics unless my phone is activated.
What do I have to do and what will it cost to switch my phone over to Speakout? Or is there a better company out there that would suit my needs?
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Your LG Rumour 2 will only work with Virgin mobile, no other carriers. Speakout sells a really nice Nokia C3, much nicer than the Rumour 2
You can transfer your LG Rumour 2 phone pictures onto an microSD card, http://cgi.ebay.ca/2GB-MicroSD.....3a601487ed and use the adapter to transfer the pictures onto a computer.
I cannot really recommend a carrier or plan until you tell me what your needs are. Do you txt a lot? Are you a gabber? Do you only need an emergency phone? That sort of stuff.

I have a MagicJack so I really just need a cell phone for the camera. I wish to transfer my photos from my Rumour to my computer but it's not working, probably because I cancelled with Virgin, I'm guessing. I want to put pics on Craigslist and Ebay as well. I would otherwise only use the cell for emergencies when I'm out.

It should not matter if you are activated with Virgin, the pictures should be able to be transferred with or without phone service. My guess is there is some menu in the phone that allows for that, but it is not easy to find. I am not an expert with the LG Rumour 2, no I cannot help much in that area.
As for a new Speakout phone, I do like the C3! It has a decent camera, and you can use WIFI with it. There is a current promotion where you get a $40 bonus for 2 months of browsing and texts. https://www.speakout7eleven.ca/phones/nokia-c3 After that, you can pay for a $25 card, which will last a year if used sparingly. It also has a MicroSD slot which allows you to easily transfer pictures amd MP3s to and from your computer. The MP3 player is pretty good also.
