HTC Sensation will sell for $499.99 and the Samsung Galaxy S II for $599.99 from Virgin Mobile.

I think these are pretty good prices.

My question is will they work with Speak out... will the data and apps and everything work.

That is a lot of money for a Korean phone that is just not built all that well,
But I digress.

Speakout should work with Android phones, but you need to unlock the phone root it. It would be probably wise to also upgrade the OS

And what would be a well built phone? I am new to these phones so maybe I'm wrong but I know that the iphone 4 is no better made in China and what like $659 plus crappier specs.

This is my problem. I do not know of any Android phone that can survive drops, or are water resistant or general wear and tear. Thist should be a given for a $600 phone.

Every Korean device I owned had issues. I am told that Samsung and HTC devices are getting better, but my previous burns have soured me.

I have had good luck with Nokia phones. If you can get past their outdated UI, they are a decent phone. At least they are priced much better.

I got my Sony X10 Android phone for $100 at kijiji. It was cheap because the phone had issues I know how to fix. Sony is horrid when it comes to updates, and that is another reason I got the phone so cheap.

There are plenty of sellers on kijiji wanting to unload their Android phones for $200-$300. Because of the build quality of current Android phones, that is the price you should pay for one. If you see a deal that you are interested, let me know. I am pretty good at discovering what is wrong with it, if there is something wrong with it.

Interesting.

What would you think of the LG Optimus 2X ? I think it's a little bit cheaper and to me it's not really that different than the HTC sensation.

Certainly has a decent review http://www.engadget.com/2011/0.....2x-review/

Again, I have to harp on it being a Korean phone, but it seems to have all the goodies you would want. The other issue would be price of course.
