You would not be able to do it unless the internet stick is totally unlocked and debranded, You would still have to set up proxy settings with the browser. I did it with a PCMCIA card. It worked, but I did not see the point when there are other more elegant solutions, that are not much more expensive.

What are the "more elegant solutions"? I just started researching portable internet options because hubby is away from home until Sept. for job training and where he's located right now the building isn't hooked up for internet. I have no idea why it isn't hooked up seeing as it's in a major city and I'm sure there'd be a market for it with all the guys and gals stuck there for training, but anyway I need something not crazy expensive for short-term use.
