iPhone 3GS on SpeakOut?

Hi,
I got a speakout sim and put it in my Rogers-locked 3Gs but instead of saying SpeakOut it just has the signal bar indicator (with only one bar of reception) and no carrier name. All calls sent fail and text messages fail to send. I tried the sim in a unlocked nokia and it worked fine and got reception. My phone is jailbroken. Any ideas?
Thanks!

I have an old iphone 3G, branded on Rogers. I was thinking of putting in a Speakout SIM.

Will this work, or does the device need to be unlocked first?iPhone5 release date

madhulekha: Your Rogers IPhone 3G should work with Speakout. It does not have to be unlocked.

Any iPhone will now work with Speakout, as long as it is unlocked, or it is a Rogers IPhone. There was a brief time where some Rogers branded IPhones would not work with Speakout (I believe it was the GS) but that is now ancient history.

Do you think that mine would be one of those that didn't work with SpeakOut?

Your IPhone should work now. Rogers removed that limitation quite a while ago.

It doesn't, though. An unlocked iPhone 2G works fine but not my 3GS for some reason. Would a screenshot of what I'm getting help?
