I am visiting Toronto and Montreal for three weeks and would like to use my unlocked iPhone. Is there a pay as you go SIMM card that I can purchase in Toronto that would serve my purpose?

Just go to a 7-Eleven and buy a SpeakOut sim card, and an airtime voucher.

The data option, although announced by SpeakOut, is not ready yet. No one knows what kind of packages will be available.

Yes, data will be available. The current unlimited browsing option is being retired, but by June 30th new options will be in place. Just can't tell you exactly what they will be yet.

And since you will be coming here in 3 weeks I can tell you that you will be dealing with the Unlimited Browsing plan which is available until June 30th. So if you are arriving in early June, your browsing add on will be valid for 30 days. If the 30 days ends before June 30, it will be renewed for 30 more days. If it falls after June 30, you will need to upgrade to one of the new plans. Regardless, you will need to start with the Browsing plan, so do some research and find out how to install the Speakout APN on your phone in advance.
