Hi guys I just joined and I'm looking for help using my iPhone on SpeakOut's value plan. I have an locked iPhone 4 using a Gevey SIM unlock and a SpeakOut sim card. It previously worked fine on Koodo mobile.

The issue I'm having is sometimes people are unable to call my phone and instead it will go straight to voicemail and sometimes I receive calls fine.

My text messaging is even more frustrating. Sometimes it works fine and then I'll receive texts delayed from days before or other phones won't receive my texts.

Other than that the Unlimited Data works great and I would love to be able to use this plan properly.

Ive called tech support numerous times and currently the troubleshooting option would be to try another SIM card or try my current SIM card on another unlocked phone, which could be difficult. They have said they cannot guarantee the plan will work on an unsupported phone.

Throw your SIM in a Speakout phone and test it out. At least if you have issues with a SO phone, CS will work to fix it. They won't do anything for you now as it is very possible that the problem lies with your Gevey adaptor or possibly the phone.

Hi andreww, thanks for the tip.

I'm fairly certain the issue isn't with my phone or the Gevey adapter because up until I switched to Speakout it was working perfectly with Koodo.

I'm thinking it must be the SIM card (which I had to cut down to size.) Testing it on a SO phone would require me to buy one so I think I'm going try buying another SIM card first.

For what it's worth (maybe a little inspiration), I have the same setup as you (with gevey ultra) and it's working 100% fine. I have heard a lot of people screwing up when cutting their sim, so that may be your issue.

Good to know someones been able to get it to work. I'm using a Gevey Pro but I have an Ultra around that Ill try instead. It looks like I cut my SIM pretty much perfect.

Yeh, I would thing that if you cut the SIM wrong, it simply wouldn't work. Again, its really hard to troubleshoot especially with a cut down SIM. But as a side note, I have had the issue of texts not being delivered occasionally. Doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen. Also, I have had voicemails when I never heard a ring, but have always put that down to just being in a place without service. Again, it happens so infrequently that it would be hard to troubleshoot.
