I have a Rogers iphone 3G on SO, and recently just added the unlimited browsing. I am seeing the E symbol for Edge network at the top of the screen, but it is not connecting with any internet pages. It tries and then times out saying "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding". I have seen the forums regarding changing settings for enable data, but I figured that since the E came up, that I was good to go. Any ideas?

Thank you - it worked! Went through the config and now the E at the top means I'm actually on the EDGE network. I can surf with Safari, download apps, and use facebook for iphone (which uses the internet). I'm a happy SO user!

Sign up for a gmail and set it up as an exchange account. You'll be able to send and receive email from the mail app too.

yup, most or *all* carriers do have data plans for the iPhone (its kinda a prerequisite). their prices vary based on the amount of data.
