The Droid is a CDMA phone, so it will not work with Speak Out. The Milestone should work, if you can adjust the proxy settings, which is likely with unlocked an debranded versions. Oh yeah, there is a CDMA version of the Milestone, don't get that one! 🙂 I doubt anyone here has their hands on the $600 googlephone yet, but who knows! 🙂

I noticed that NCIX.com has the Milestone on sale for $619.99. Looks like it would be a nice alternative to the Iphone3GS for a bit less.
But I would want to be sure it worked on Speakout before buying. According to the specs it is compatible with General 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900.

I have actually purchase a milestone couple days ago, and after unlocking, it works fine with the SO sim.
I was able to make/receive calls, as well as send/receive text messages.
but when i try to check my balance, or dial any other *number, such as *611 *777 *888 i get a message saying they can not complete my call.
i havent had the time to call customer service about this though, so when i get a chance to do that ill post what i find out.

I'll tell you right now that SpeakOut customer service will not help you with this. They will only offer support (as they should) to only SpeakOut branded phones.

What happens where you just dial 611 and the like without the asterisk? I never use the asterisk before. Is there a difference?
