The problem is on my new galaxy 3s (SCH-R530U) wont seem to read the sin (i dont get any error until try and make the call "Mobile network not available". The phone seems to be unlocked as well it came rooted (was second hand). tried for hours to figure this out but im at a loss. Any help would be great.

That SCH-R530U is an interesting phone, and it does not look like it works with Speakout, if I read the specs correctly. It does not seem to do 3G, or GSM on the 850 mhz / 1900 mhz band. The phone apparently does Band 4 AWS though, which is what Wind uses. It might also do everyone's Band 4 LTE here in Canada, but that is severe speculation on my part.
iamdrumming: The SCH-R530U looks to be an LTE phone that also supports US CDMA networks. Not much of a distinction in this case, I agree, it still won't easily work with Speakout.

Hi, on a similar note, I bought a speak out microsim card today and unlocked my phone from the optus (australian network) to use the card during my visit to Canada. The new speakout microsim card is still not recognised after registering. My phone service was displayed as "searching" initially, then "no service". Just wondering if anyone knows why this might be the case and how to overcome it? I have not put any credit on my card but other posts do quote that their cards are recognised even without credit.
Any help would be much appreciated!

So, you unlocked while still in Australia? If your phone says "searching" and "no service" I would think that the unlocking worked. However (and obviously) it couldn't find the SpeakOut network, since that is only available within Canada. If the unlock didn't work, the phone would say "SIM not recognized" or something similar.
