It should work if it's unlocked. Keep in mind that the Nexus 4 uses a micro SIM.

So, will the SO Simcard we have now fit in the Nexus 4, or do we have to get a new one?
Assuming the card fits physically, do we have to do anything to transfer our account to the new device or is it simply a matter of moving the card over and away we go as before?

I think I found the answer to my question. This is what it says on the SpeakOut website:

*Note: The SpeakOut SIM card is a full size SIM card and will not fit into any device that requires a micro-SIM

So, does that mean we can't use SO on the Nexus 4, or is there a work-around - eg. cutting the simcard smaller, waiting for SpeakOut to release a micro-Sim (due to popular demand?)

You will have to cut it, but many people cut them wrong.

So, what's the right way to cut it?

OK, thanks Fefrie.
That looks kind of fiddly to me. I think I'd rather buy a new one the right size from SO, especially if it's only $10.

How about it? Do you think SO will start offering one to support these phones?

Only if they offer the phones that take micro SIM's themselves. Otherwise, you'll have to cut your SIM.

I bought one of these to cut my sim to a micro:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item.....15941.html

It's very easy to use and I have also done it for a few friends and there has never been a problem. You can also get them to cut a full size sim to a nano for the iphone 5.

They're sold out anyway!

Doen't iPhones use the micro-sim as well?
Seems to be the way of the future.
When do you suppose SO will start offering micro-sims?
(The work-around of cutting down full-size sims doesn't seem like a workable solution in the long term. SO should provide the smaller ones if that's the way the world is moving)

I am currently using SO on my Nexus 4 16GB. You just have to be careful when you cut down the SIM card. Also, check out these settings to access the unlimited web browsing feature:

Hope that helps! =)

you can cut your sim easy, you do need to cut some metal but don't worry just go slow

^-- Do you have a link to instructions for rooting the nexus 4? I just got mine and updated to 4.2.1 but googling for root guide finds all sorts of conflicting advice.. I rooted my old Gio easy enough but the steps for the nexus 4 look scary

I went for a swim with my iPhone over the Christmas Break - so i need a new phone. Two questions:

1. Would the swim damage the SIM Card?
2. I want to buy a cheapie phone to use while i wait for a nexus 4 - 7-11 doesn't sell any with micro-sim? How can i "uncut" my micro back into a regular size SIM card?

No promises, but the SIM card should work, even is submerged in water.

You can get a micro SIM adapter kit like this http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Black-S.....1c2ea06997
