As far as I know, there is no way to download anything to a Nokia 1208. Those generic Nokia CA-45 cables you see on eBay will not work.

I don't think that you can download tones in Nokia 1208 you can just use the available tones in the mobile.

Use the Composer to enter the ringtone manually. If you search the Intertoobs, you can find several sites that have codes for various tunes. It isn't as fancy as putting MP3s on, but who cares? I personally find most ringtones highly annoying.

How do you enter the ringtone manually? I've figured out how to read the music in the link above, but I'm not sure where in the phone the option for a composer?

You can not get anything onto the Nokia 1208 since this is a low end phone. You only can use the ringtones that come with this phone.

Wrong.
You can't download ringtones or mp3s, but you can use the Composer to enter custom tunes. I have the intro to Pink Floyd's "Money" as my 1208 ringtone.
Menu-> Extras->Composer.
