Nokia 1661 HELP PLEASE

I just got the Nokia 1661 today under the Christmas promotion. I think there is a problem with the SIM card. The phone keeps on telling me to insert the SIM card when it's already in there. The SIM was in the phone when I got it. I activated it and still it's giving me the same message. Can someone please help me.

Maybe power off and on your phone without the sim card. Or you might have to keep the battery out for a few minutes for your phone to reset. The problem might be with the phone itself, and not the sim card. If all else fails, I would contact SpeakOut customer service.

ok, Just spoke with customer service and she says voicemail number and cell phone number are not the same.
hence, inserting your cell number to "1" will not connect to your voicemail. I think someone already mention that number on this board. some people on this board also have the same issue with nokia 1661. do any of you use your cell number to access the voicemail? seems to be some users here are using both.

cheers

The SIM might have been switched?
