Optimus One unlocked but can not dial out | Phone/Device Issues and Features | Consumer forum

Hi, just bought a Telus prepaid Optimus One a few days ago, unlocked with a code bought on eBay and all seemed OK. After inserting SO sim card it was recognized, incoming test call showed caller ID, and outgoing *777 call to account balance no problem. However, when dialing any other local number, all I get is a message "Unfortunately we can not complete your call as dialed, please check the number and try again, 2525". Using the telus prepaid sim that came with the phone worked fine. Anyone seen this problem before? Could it be related to the unlock code?
