Hi,I have the exact same phone a unlocked Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant running android 2.2.
I am currently just using it with Rogers pay as you go and wifi.
I am considering Speakout if I can get data to work. I read the earlier posts where browsing will work. Is there settings posted on how to do this?
And I searched but there doesn't seem to be info in this site if anyone has been able to get other Android applications working yet. - above it says by rooting the phone and editing some iptablesfor this phone. Has anyone got this working yet?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Just a update on my unlocked Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant:
I bought a speakout sim card for $10 and the $25 voucher. After setting up the phone and text, I called and ordered the $10/month unlimited data. They sent me a email and after opening that email, that automatically updated my phone settings and within minutes the internet browsing was working.
It is a bit slow but for the price its ok.
The main limitation is that no android applications work at all. I call Speakout and they said the data plan is only a 2g and only supports web browsing, they said you need 3g for android apps. I don't know, does anybody know any different?

Whether you get 2G or 3G from Speakout depends on your phone if it supports 3G, and Rogers offers it in your area. Speakout only promised 2G, so if you get 3G, consider it a bonus.
As for Android Applications, not many of them run through a proxy, of which Speakout uses. For the most part, if you can get the app running through a proxy at port 80, it should work. Usually with Android, that involves rooting the phone, and messing around with IP Tables. Nokia, Apple, and even Microsoft phones tend to do a better job with Speakout data.
