Pardon the naivete. I use SO simply as an emergency cell phone, usually talking less than a few minutes at a time. I do not use texting, web browsing, email, etc.,via cell phone.

Why might I want a smartphone? Would the telephone sound be that much superior to either my Nokia 2760 of my Motorola Razr?

For those of you who have smartphones, IPhones, etc., and who do use the internet, approximately what is your monthly cost?

Thanks.

If you have to ask why you would want a smart phone, you likely do not need a smart phone. Most smartphones are rather weak as phones. If all I was doing is talk, I would prefer a clam shell like the RAZR.

As for what to do with a smart phone, it depends on your interests. I use mine as a GPS, check the weather, listen to music, watch a video, and countless other things. I do not use the phone part much.

As for cost for data, Speakout is close to the cheapest out there, $10 a month.

Thanks a lot for your response. You're probably accurate that I don't need one at this time in my life.
