Hi
Please let me know if anyone has purchased the above phone.

Is the samsung gio a better in comparison to the above

Sony ericsson phone is now on sale for 99$ until Aug 23 or 24th

I have other sony ericsson phones not the above, but the battery life is short. The moment i hear music for even a few mins the battery goes down. So am not sure

Appreciate your input
Thank you for your time

I have owned the Ray for about a month now. I really like it! It has an awesome camera, and the mp3 player size is a huge plus. The small screen is an issue with fat fingers like mine, but I have worked around it to a point it is no longer an issue.

The battery life is pretty good, comparable to the Gio. It is not as easy to unlock as the Gio, and not cheap, Around $12 to $20. Never got around to unlocking it yet.

I hear android ICS does a lot to accommodate proxies, the ray can easily be upgraded to ICS.

As for a recommendation of the Ray over the Gio, get the Ray. It is a better phone, and it's defects are also features depending on your point of view. Just keep in mind it is a small phone.

I forgot, the ray also has a front facing camera, gor skype, and mine came with 8gb of memory, which is nice.

you should get the same in the Gio, well may be I have installed another keyboard.

Just FYI, I decide to keep the Ray and sell the Gio even though it really is more difficult to operate(both reading and typing and handling), I use the phone as beeper(i.e. telling me I have mail so I check it on my computer) about 80% of the time so can tolerate the smaller font and awkward operation.

It has a few nice features which I like and just tried. The GPS is much better than Gio(the weakest thing) and that it can be used outdoor under bright sunlight plus the 2100 band which I know I want/need once a year or so.

Both are very nice phone and can't go wrong with either especially at this price. At worst, sell them at ~60-80 bucks used as even a dump phone like samsung 414 is selling for that kind of price

Thank you chimpanzee
the key board as you know has that not sure what you call it in mobile terms that line you can take across the words so i am working on that but how do i increase the size of the font when i type. is it possible.

Also in the SE ray the correct words came up so i could easily select. In the GIO the words that come up do not make any sense. Or perhaps its me using the oldfashioned cell phone and cant keep up to hi-fi

thank you for your post on gio advice - appreciate it
