this week I just got a new phone. It can use 3G on Speak out. Everything runs fabulous
How about telling folks which phone and how you set it up?
Actually it same settings like other people talked before. same as iphone, you need to setup a proxy to use the internet. there are a lot of free proxy apps on the market. just download and intall. The only thing cannot run is Voip. I'm trying to let it work. for the Voip, you can get as low as 0.5 cent/min call for whole Canada.

Just an FYI, anyone with the C3 or C5 should be contacting Speakout to upgrade their account if this was not the original phone they purchased. These phones use different web settings than the rest. If you add the web browsing online you will NOT get the right one, so never add it yourself if you're using one of these phones. The C3/C5 web settings are not available for 3rd party phones. And they don't even work on 3rd party C3/C5.

They have 2 unlimited web browsing plans. Both are $10/month, both are unlimited.
The one they've always offered is the one that is available online in your account management login. This is the one for use with all phones except SO C3 and C5. Even 3rd party C3 and C5 are limited to the original one.
However, when they introduced the C3, they introduced a new web browsing plan. What the difference is, I don't really know. But, it is a different option for the customer service agents that we customers don't have access to. It can only be acquired by updating your account with a valid IMEI for a SO C3 or C5. Without it, your C3 won't operate the web browsing properly or maybe not at all.

I have a T-Mobile Nuron unlocked and it shows 3G speeds and better on Speakout in Canada with speedtest.net. The speed is good. This is I belive a quad band? phone but it is T-Mobile unlocked, so I think the above comment presumes too much?!
Quote from a review…….The Optimus T is a quad-band EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and dual-band HSDPA 7.2 (1700/2100 MHz) device with 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi.
SO I guess"EDGE" is the key here for the Optimus.
