Long time Speakout (SO) User with an old Nokia 1661. Recently purchased a Moto G (1st Gen) locked to Telus and wish to use it on SO but retain my current phone number and account balance.
Are the following the correct steps to make this happen?
1. Order SO SIM card (dual sim) from online web site. Cost $10 plus tax.
2. Phone SO and ask them assign current account and phone number to this
SIM card and ask them to activate SIM card.
3. Install SIM card into new Moto G.
4. Unlock Moto G using unlock services found on E-Bay (thx. Bridonca for links in this site)
Then should I be good to go?

Questions?
Tried Customer Support but need more info. Pls. Help??
I have been asked for my 4 digit SO PIN. No idea what this is. Is it the password
used to check messages with SO or a completely different PIN?
Anything else in the steps above that I need to consider or should do.

At the end of my journey would it be helpful to this Forum if I documented the steps
to help others, because SO Support is "umm" somewhat challenging.

I am not clear on this part, do you already have a SIM card from your Nokia 1661 that is still active? If so, use that. You will have to cut the SIM down to the size the Moto G will accept, any mall technician that fixes phones should be able to do that for you $5 or so. Once you fit the modified Speakout SIM into your Moto G, you will be able to use you old account and balance. Your account is tied to the SIM, not the phone.

When speaking with Speakout, which I am not sure you even have to do in this case, I am not sure what exactly you need to do if you do not know your 4 digit password. Maybe give them your numbers on the SIM card, and old phone IMEI number and approximate balance. The Speakout CSR must be able to allow for alternate authentication, and if not, kindly ask to speak to their supervisor.

Thanks Bridonca
Yes I have a working SIM card in the Nokia 1661. I thought it would be easier to buy a replacement card rather than cutting the existing card. Thanks for the advice, I will try this option.
Sounds easier than my adventure with SO Support.
