Hi all,

I have a few Z220 and Blu4 from previous promotions.
Quite happy with them, kids play with the blu4s and my wife and i use z220.
The only thing is the camera on these are are not great, picture quality low.

Wondering if anyone has both the virtue III and z220/blu4 and can let me know if the camera is any better in real life (not just specs since all are supposedly 5MP) on the virtue III than z220/blu4?

Worth it to spend the $50 for virtue III just for the camera?
I'm thinking not worth it, but just checking with you all just in case sf-cool_gif

thanks!

I bought the z220, expecting the 5MP to be good. However, during the past couple of months, the quality has deteriorated, even though I set it to "best quality". Worse is that "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped." is the message I get whenever I try to use the camera. I have tried clearing the photos, to my computer, using the "hard-wired attached cable, however they are still in the Gallery. Any suggestions?

Try my suggestions in the thread you started. It's worth a shot.

I have the BLU Advance 4 and now the Figo III. I can say the Figo camera seems far superior to the BLU. I'd say it's worth getting just for the camera. It's not comparable to a high end phone, of course, but for point and click situations, even in low light, the pictures are not bad. The phone itself feels cheaper than the BLU, like it's made of vinyl. We'll see how well it holds up.

Note that the Figo uses micro SIMs rather than the regular SIMs of the BLU, if you upgrade. I used a template from the web to resize mine. It worked ok when transferred to the Figo.
The only issue I have found with my Figo is the display/touch calibration is a little off. Maybe there's an app to correct it.
Otherwise it's a spiffy little unit.

Thanks ok i'll wait for next $50 off promo and try a figo for the camera.
Not sure why all these cheapy 5mp phones take such lousy pictures and dont auto focus very well, esp taking videos. While 8mp phones take very good pictures and videos. Must be the camera software on higher end phones i'm guessing...

to person having issues with camera stopping on z220:
i have an old thread here with lots of similar problem with z220, they seem to go away with software update and not trying to start or install to many apps. I just use it for phone, text, camera and its stable. Try closing all apps before launching camera (press 3rd softbutton with lines and clear all apps).
