HI everyone, I have a nokia 1208 that I got through speak out. Here is the thing-My vision has deteriorated and require a phone change. I require voice dialing,Large fonts and a display that is easier to read. voice command would be nice but not priority. Speak out phones reatures rstricted. Does this mean I will need to look at other phones with rogers etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated within a reasonable price range. I want to be able to transfer sims so I am able to keep the speak out plan.I understand somewhat but indecisive. Rogers and fido aalesmen are adament that their phones can not be unlocked.Any help out there?

I would call CNIB and ask them how others in your situation deal with the requirements that you've described. Phones designed for those with special needs do exist, e.g. Jitterbug from Samsung. The issue is whether there are models intended specifically for the visually impaired and whether they will work on the SO/Rogers network.
It's also possible that Rogers (and/or Bell) will be able to assist you. I know that Bell used to offer landline phones with special features for their hearing and visually impaired customers.

I had been in touch with the CBIB and you are right in that the selection is pretty minimal. The phones are geared for persons with severe vision impairment.
Their suggestion was to search out phone models that would best suit my needs. I checked out a samsung r500 and it seemed workable. The fonts are adjustable, voice dialing and the display was easy to read. It is available at Telus which of course is not coompatable with speak out card
Any suggestions for somethi8ng simalar to the above that I could switch cards and use speak out plan?
