Does anyone know if it is worth unlocking my fido GSM Sony Erickson phone ( having to pay Fido $50)? That is will it work with speakout after it is unlocked. It will not work now when it is locked. Works on these frequencies. GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900

It should work. Keep in mind that the features in that phone might not all work with SpeakOut. Talking and straight texting should be ok though.

it is not worth unlocking that phone unless you have some emotional attachment to it. You can get some really nice Rogers/unlocked phones that are compatible with Speakout on Kijiji for $50
